Exegetical Preferences of Imam Al Baidawi in his tafsir: “Anwar ut Tanzil wa Asrar al Ta’wil” (A Critical and Analytical Study)

Abstract

The Quranic literature contains rich dimensions of diversity in its interpretation. The reader often finds differences in sayings and opinions regarding the meaning of a Qur’anic word, a Qur’anic verse, or a directive to a specific meaning. In this regard, it is important to have some explanatory rules that the exegete may use in giving preference to a specific opinion and saying.

Based on it, the present research aims to explore Exegetical Preferences in one of the most popular, concise, and standard classical Qur’anic interpretational works composed by the 13th-century Muslim scholar Al-Qadi al-Baydawi.
