Ethical Aspects and Characteristics of a Successful Personality and its Role in Social Development (An Evaluation in the Light of Quranic Methodology)

Abstract

Allah Almighty has explained the unique ethical methodology in the Holy Quran by explaining its features and characteristics that is entirely different than that of other methodologies, isms and systems. The Holy Quran is the word of God which provide guidance in all aspects of human life including all kinds of ethics which are applicable everywhere and every time as the Quran says that: Indeed, this Qur'an guides to that which is most suitable and gives good tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds that they will have a great reward. In this connection a man can construct his self his family, social and collective life in a certain ethical patterns of life. Therefore this study is designed to through light upon the Quranic ethical values, Quranic methodology of inculcation ethics, and characteristics of Quranic methodology along with their role in the development of an individual and society. By taking into consideration the Quranic verses regarding ethics, it was found that the rise and fall of individual as well as societies depended upon the code of ethics which was endorsed by the empirical and historical evidences as well. By keeping such importance of Quranic methodology, the author intended to address the important questions: what are ethical aspects of a successful person in the light of Quran? What are the features of Quranic methodology in ethical development and what is the role of Quranic methodology in the development of society? The underlying theme would be addressed into three parts. The First will look into the Literal and Technical meanings of ethics and development, The Second will uncover the ethical aspects of a successful personality in the light of Quranic methodology, the Third will deal with the Quranic ethical features of a successful personality, and the Fourth will explain the role of Quranic ethics in the development of society. Finally conclusion and recommendations will be given in the light of cited literature.
