This article examines the desired role and multifaceted responsibilities of Muslim youth in the contemporary era in the light of the Qur’an and Sunnah. It analyzes their academic, intellectual, moral, and social obligations, emphasizing the necessity for youth to emerge as effective and constructive members of society. These responsibilities, entrusted to the Ummah as a consequence of the Finality of Prophethood, are incumbent upon every Muslim. The study argues that the fulfillment of these duties requires youth to embody, at the highest level, the essential qualities of a true dā‘ī (caller to Islam).
Accordingly, the article outlines the intellectual and educational competencies, along with the moral, reformative, and missionary attributes expected of Muslim youth, and delineates their core responsibilities. The primary objective is to acquaint the new generation with these essential qualities so that they may actively contribute to social reform and effectively undertake the responsibility of guiding the Ummah. It is hoped that this study will serve as a meaningful resource for the intellectual and moral development of contemporary Muslim youth.
