Abstract

Hassan bin Thabet, companion of the Prophet PBUH is commonly referred to as the poet of the Prophet and Islam. He died in Madinah 674 at the age of one hundred and twenty years. He has produced many poems and poetry in the defense of Prophet Muhammad SAAW and Islam. His writings in defense of Muhammad contain references to contemporary events that have been useful in documenting the period. He was also Islam’s first religious poet, using many phrases from the Qur’an in his verses. The work of Hassan Ibn Thabit was instrumental in spreading the message of Muhammad, as poetry was an important part of Arab culture. The purpose of this article is to analyze his contribution to the defense and Prophet of Islam. The article also highlights the worth of his poetry along with his biography. The method used in this research is descriptive and analytical.
